What Is The Difference, Kids Yoga? Tween Yoga? Teen Yoga?


·        Kid’s yoga classes are an introduction to yoga in its simplest form with fun and games.

·        Tween yoga classes are the first introduction to incorporating setting an intention with a complete sequence of poses-while focusing on breathing, creating a mind and body balance.

·        Teen yoga classes expand on all the above and are the last step before moving on to adults yoga classes.

increase coordination and concentration. For kids of any age, a regular yoga practice leads towards creating an overall healthy attitude and builds a sense of community. Classes are designed to make learning yoga fun and start with setting an intention--a thought or an attitude and direction in which to focus your thoughts.


During classes and workshops, instructors will help young yogis by suggesting intentions based on practical life concepts such as living in peace, feeling empowered, implementing self-love, practicing balance, creating strength, being mindful, or living yoga on and off the mat. Proposing these intentions help younger yoga students to be more focused. Instructors sometimes expand on these concepts after class to create a group discussion. Children and adults who practice yoga find a bit of peace each time they attend class.  It provides them with a starting point of understanding of how yoga can help keep the body and mind in balance. 

Sharon Marrama, owner of Here Comes the Sun Yoga for Kids is a children’s yoga instructor at several studios and schools in the Boston and North Shore area of Massachusetts. She holds a certificate in Teen Coaching and writes children’s books spreading sunshine along the way!
